Moore County Library Systems Eligible Borrower Guidelines

Eligible Borrowers:

1)    Permanent residents of Moore County must present identification in the form of a Texas Driver’s License or Texas Identification Card.  Verification of current local address is also required.  Anyone under the age of 16 must have the responsibility statement on the application signed by a parent or guardian who must supply the required identification and verification.  To be eligible for a card, one must be a resident or own property or business within Moore County.

2)    Non-permanent, temporary out-of-state residents residing in Moore County must pay a $10.00 fee before receiving a library card.  Proof of residency within the county must be provided, and permanent address supplied.  Applicant must present identification in the form of a valid Driver’s License, military I.D., or other picture identification card.  When all materials are returned, all fines paid, and the library card returned, or proof of permanent established residence in Moore County is presented, the $10.00 fee will be refunded.

3)    Residents of the state of Texas, who do not live within a Harrington Library Consortium served area, may apply for and receive a Loan Star Library Card with proof of permanent state residency and state-issued identification, military I.D., or other picture identification card, or by presenting a valid TexShare card.

4)    Residents living within the state of Texas who reside in Harrington Library Consortium served counties must obtain a card at their home library.  This includes the following counties: Dallam, Sherman, Hansford, Ochiltree, Lipscomb, Hartley, Moore, Hutchinson, Hemphill, Oldham, Potter, Carson, Gray, Wheeler, DeafSmith, Randall, Armstrong, Donley, Collingsworth, Parmer, Castro, Swisher, Briscoe, Hall, Childress, and Hale.

5)    Eligible borrowers are those with a valid Moore County Library card, Texas Panhandle Library System Member with a valid card from their home library, or a person carrying a Harrington Library Consortium card.

6)    Registration is made in the name of the individual and each person is responsible for the materials checked out on their card number.  The first card issued to each person will be free of charge.  Replacements thereafter will cost $2.00 each.
